I’m hooked on the last.fm and here’s why: it teaches me new bands like Zofka!

From their self-written band bio:

There is no music that fits so perfectly to your summer feeling like the music of Zofka! The sound of their songs is new and fresh, futuristic and retro at the same time, a wonderful melange of Downbeat Chanson, Electropop, NuJazz and Chill Out some sort of NuChanson. Zofkas remarkable art is to make electronic music sound warm, expressive and full of emotions. The music of Zofka reminds you of a charming trip to the south coast of France, the Côte DAzur. This is Zofka: An elegant and unique melange of french chanson and musette, electronic beats and pop-elements married with the remarkable and sublime soul-voice of the vocalist Myriam Russo combined to form a rare and exquisite musical delight. Get charmed!

So go check out Zofka! How bad could it be?

p.s. their website is actually quite pretty.

Uh, OK, so let me get this straight:

From my flickr account, I blog an image that’s available under a Creative Commons license. That post goes straight to my WordPress blog on newtonbigelow.com, which in turn sends it to my LiveJournal page. Those in turn are syndicated via RSS and also possibly dugg, technorati’d or stumbled upon.

So why am I not rich yet?

Oh yeah, ’cause 50 million other people are doing the same thing.

It’s still kinda cool, though.

Anne and I spent a big chunk of the day trying to squirrel-proof the peach tree. The fruit isn’t anywhere near ripe, but every day a few more disappear. In the hope the we might get to eat a few peaches ourselves, we’ve constructed elaborate arrangements of bird netting around individual branches. The peach tree now looks like it’s wearing fishnet stockings.

Will it work? Ha! We don’t know!
